When we founded Tucson Spotlight in September 2024, we set out to close the gap in local coverage. In just one year, we’ve published over 1,000 stories, newsletters and reels, including 300 articles in Spanish. That impact was made possible because of our paid interns. Our interns are attending meetings and events, connecting with neighbors, and amplifying underrepresented voices. They're reporting on undercovered topics and communities and making a true impact in our community.
